Oh another distressing comment about my upcoming wedding. A young woman at work laughed when I mentioned it to her, and demanded to know WHY I'd do something like that?
Well, I know she was saying it mostly in jest, but the fact that one CAN jest about it is distressing to me. When did marriage go from being expected, especially of young women my age, to being something that, at least, colloquially, should be avoided?
Well, I think we all know the answer; the decade of peace, love and womens lib aren't very innocent here.
Just a hundred years ago, and back through to the very beggining og God's time, marriage was what life was BUILT on. Marriage built a partnership, a home, brought forth children. Yet nowadays women are being encouraged, at least subconciously, to NOT marry, told that the things that marriage can bring are readily available to them without the "mess" of marriage.
Now THATS what i call a joke

Wedding Prep; T-minus 18 days and counting!
Ladies, did you ever have a point during your engagement when you sat bolt upright at 4 am and realized HOLY QUEEN MOTHER I'm getting married?!
Yeah, I've had that. Like, 7 times since my engagement in February. Cept now that we're less than 3 weeks till the big day, I'm realizing all those things I had "all the time in the world" for still aren't done!
Candles need decorated, my veil isn't done, my bridesmaids aren't fitted, the tuxes are JUS NOW ordered and worst of all, we don't have a marriage license yet! eek!

Powered by steam, obviously not pixels.
Oooh the woes of basic computer layouts and my lack of mastery over them. I'd love for you to have a pretty blog to look at, to match the overarching theme, but I'm afraid a semi-attractive color scheme will have to do.
In any case, I welcome you to my blog, a little side project I made mostly on a whim as I start my new life as a married woman. A geeky art-nerd of a wife with far too deep an interest in Neo-Victorian fashion and fiction, as well as a high level Victoriphilia in general.
I'm a soon to be newlywed, engaged to a wonderful Mr. M who's just as dorkily inclined as I.
But this will interest you little until you have some sort of idea how my life will affect your entertainment here. So what can you expect? Oh many things; homemaking adventures of a Wife Who Can't Cook, artistic endeavors, the products of mediocre sewing skills, rambles on my intense hadred for the F word (feminism), fangirling over everything from Harry Potter to Voyager to Code Geass to Godchild, and maybe a dash of Roman Catholicism thrown in for flavor.
My hobbies are broad, my opinions unusual and my morals conservative. Grab your aprons and join me!
